Alpha Christmas: Chapter One, Pecks Plan.

Christmas was just around the corner, and Peck couldn't wait. It was her favourite time of the year, and the Rabbit Alpha was more exited then usual, if that was even possible.

Peck had spent the last week building an entire gingerbread city, designing elaborate cards and homemade gifts for the other Alphas and putting the finishing touches on the light show outside her borrow.

Naturally, Peck wasent the only one in the Christmas spirt. Liza was giving gifts to each animal she welcomed into Jamaa. Cosmo was using his herboligy talents to make medicine, which he delivered to sick baby animals in the hospital. Sir Gilbert was throwing a feast. Gramm was trying to make an exact replica of Santa's Sleigh.

But one Alpha stayed in his cave. Yes, Greely, with a frown on his face and a heart as cold as the snow, could not stand Christmas. It is true that the wolf Alpha likes to keep to himself, and Christmas was no exception.

In result, Peck was going berserk. She needed a plan... and fast! Christmas was in three days. Peck would despise of having anybody, no matter who, locked in a damp, chilly cave while everyone else was gleefully opening presents. Suddenly, it hit her like a drum. Peck had a plan. And she needed the help of all the other animals for it to work.

"Hi Liza! Merry Christmas!"
Peck chimed though the bamboo stalks at Liza's door.
"Hello, Peck. Same to you!"
Replied the gentle panda with a voice like silk.
"Now come on it, it is awfully cold out there."
Without even a flicker of hesitation, Peck bounded inside and stomped her massive feet hard on the wicker mat.
"I have a plan."
She announced triumphantly, making her way into the bamboo living room.
Liza's heart turn a summersault as she sauntered into the kitchen to get some eggnog. Pecks plans were never good news. The last one had involved Sir Gilbert covered in slime... he was not happy.
"What is it this time?"
Liza simply inquired, instead of showing her doubts.
"Well, I am throwing a party."
Peck piped up, flopping into a bean bag chair.
Th panda alpha nodded, pouring eggnog into two tall glasses. So far, so good.
" What kind off party?'
She asked causally.
"A Christmas party."
Liza couldn't help thinking this was too good to be true. She lumbered into the living room and handed a glass to Peck, who was composing a little jingle on the spot.
" Thanks!"
Peck graciously sang.
"I love eggnog!"
Liza gingerly  took a seat on the sofa across from Peck. But before she could even open her mouth, Peck spontaneously bursted out,
"Do you think you can come?"
"Maybe."
Liza didn't want to hurt Pecks feelings, but she knew the rebel this little bunny was. There was bound to be a twist to her plan.
"Can I see the invitation?"
Peck practically flew across the room in one leap, eggnog in hand. The rabbit hit the ground with a "THUD" and eggnog went everywhere. But if Peck noticed, she didn't care. She was obviously to raped up in the party invitation.

Peck dug around in the pocket of her paint spattered coat and pulled out a card, which she handed to Liza, beaming from ear to ear. Like everything Peck can get her paws on, the invitation was nothing short of a masterpiece. Tiny holly leaves bordered a fantastic drawing of a reindeer. The words "Your invited too.." Were written in italics on the frount. Liza gently open the card to reveal the details.
"An Alpha Christmas Party!"
Liza read out loud.
"December 24th, 7:00 pm to December 25th, 9:00pm.
Liza turned her head to Peck.
"A two day party like last year?"
Peck nodded, ears bobbing up and down. Liza had thrown a party with identical times to Pecks the previous year. Everyone had a blast. After all, the Alphas where like family.

Liza continued on reading.
"Greely's Cave, Coral Canyons...."
It took her a moment to process what she had just read. Then Liza stopped short.
"PECK!"
Liza thundered.
"WHAT?!"
Peck replied, a little shocked. Liza... mad? Those to words just didn't go together. Kind of like Greely and Christmas... it was almost unthinkable.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT GREELY WILL SAY WHEN A BUNCH OF CHEERY ALPHAS SET FOOT IN HIS CAVE? WAIT, WHAT AM I SAYING! HE WOULD NEVER LET US IN HIS CAVE!"
Liza rambled on like a charging bull. Suddenly, Peck jumped next to Liza and busted out, "Please!"
Liza abruptly stopped, pondering what on earth this little bunny could say next. Peck was so unpredictable...
"Greely never comes to our Christmas Parties."
Peck chirped.
But Liza was holding on to her argument.
"What makes you think he will want to have anything to do with this one?"
"I don't."
Peck said, her chin up like she had just won a battle.Liza couldn't help being a little surprised.
"I was thinking he wouldn't like it at first, but then he could maybe except it. You know, kinda like How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
Liza chuckled.
"Peck, you were not there at the  great phantom battle. Greely is so powerful, nothing gets in his way."
"So?"
Peck questioned. She could be so stubborn and almost ignorant sometimes. But maybe that was why everyone liked her so much... but she wasn't buying in Liza.
"Peck, you can't do it!"
Liza was getting desperate for ways stop Peck from throwing a party at Greely's.
"Whatever."
Peck shrugged. For a moment Liza thought the party was not going to happen... then Peck zipped up her coat and walked out into the front hall.
"Wait- where are you going?"
Liza called.
"To hand out the invitations. Thanks for the eggnog."
Peck slipped on her boats while Liza searched for the right thing to say. Good luck? Have fun? It seemed odd to wish someone well for something she didn't quite aprove of. But Liza had another idea. She pulled on her boots, thrown on a coat and dashed out into the snow covered bamboo.
"Peck! Wait up!"
Pecks head flashed in Liza direction and she turned around, a mischievous look in her eyes.
"Where are you going?"
Peck asked as Liza scampered to her side.
"To help you."
